· The Fiery Furnaces do tiptoe onto the elaborate ground they've already covered on I'm Going Away's second half with "Staring at the Steeple"'s sinister rock and jazzy segues and "Keep Me in the Dark"'s globe-trotting intrigue, but their muscular playing keeps things more grounded than they've been in the past/10(80).

Now comes the new album. "I'm Going" (12 tracks; 47 min.) kicks off with the weirdish sounding title track, followed by an even stranger "Drive To Dallas" (with an ever-faster tempo towards the end), but pretty soon into album settles in and, get this, the band sounds as /5(9).
